I'm excited about more physical products emerging in the Web3 industry, but I worry a little about the methodologies we're using. I am not opposed to airdrops, in fact I think it's a really cool unique feature that we can use in this space to not only change incentive structures, but also to add a new dimension to these devices. However - I think it taints the interest pool and I don't want to get into a world where we get to sell crap for a huge markup because of the speculative nature of meme coin airdrops.

I have a client that I've been doing work for over the last month or so. They told me the other day that 1) they're ecstatic with the quality of work we've delivered and 2) they want to take things to the next level. They suggested a few more things we could do, items off of the deliverables and rates sheet we have provided. We penned a proposal including exactly what they asked for including a quote exactly in line with the rate sheet they had from us. The reply was a terse "no thanks, this isn't in line with what we're looking for" and that was it. I'm gonna handle this the way I handle every rejection/failure - learn what I can and move on. But I have to say, this one kinda confounds me.

Onchain Summer has been an epic initiative. I've loved seeing a deliberate push toward ACTUALLY creating things that users want to use for more than just trying to farm an airdrop. I have zero interest in stopping. I'm officially calling for Onchain Autumn.

My mission in Web3 is simple. I spend all day streaming to, creating content for, talking to, and teaching REAL users about this industry. There is a disconnect between brands, teams, builders, and the actual user base that needs to come onchain. I want to be the bridge.

Just closed out a 24 hour livestream that I was honored to participate in - hosted by @samsteffanina in support of the Extra Life charity🍻 That absolute savage hosted the event and played Web3 games for the entire stream - with some amazing titles! At the end of the 24 hours - over $66,000 was raised for Extra Life 🥵 Web3 gaming is inevitable 🤙🏻

Watching another Wells Notice go out to a company like @opensea isn't surprising. Another day of the SEC ignoring public figures grifting their audiences with their personal meme tokens... Another day of the oversight committees in Congress not taking any serious action against this kind of overreach... pro tip for "kol" marketing in web3 it is 100x more effective (imho) to partner with a single person or group to tell the best story you can, than to hire out 50 creators to make a single video ad read. people see a flood of posts (especially vertical video) and it immediately turns them off, regardless of the product in question. this is my opinion and my experience, shaped after doing this for 3 years and being able to count on one hand the number of times i've seen a mass kol round work out.

my favorite thing is bringing people onchain. i've found that 9 times out of 10, its a simple misunderstanding. people feel skeptical and wary of anything labeled "crypto" and more often than not if they voice those concerns they're met with hostility. crypto has an issue with gatekeeping out of one side of the mouth and complaining about a lack of mass interest out of the other. @base is truly the first ecosystem and community i've seen in my years in web3 make an honest effort to fix that. we have work to do - but this group is moving in the right direction.

Immediate reaction to the Crypto4Harris townhall that just wrapped. Disclaimer because apparently I need one in every post - I am an independent that believes Web3 needs to be a bipartisan issue in the US. I am aware it is campaign season and I was not born yesterday. I will withhold personal opinions on any of the content of this post at this time - this is meant to be informational. The speakers lineup was predominantly politicians - Senators, Representatives, and actively running candidates for both houses of Congress.
