I promised myself I won't get bitter about others winning this reward because as @adrienne says, "Your personal worth is blah blah blah not what every single other person is receiving and talking about today, and by every single other person I mean everyone who is not you specifically"

Is it possible $5 reward does more harm than good? 100 people get it every day which means thousands of DAU are not getting it. The 100 people might feel good and maybe it gets them to cast more, but is it at the cost 1000s feeling not good enough and casting less?  I don’t know the answer and it’s just an experiment 🤷‍♀️

That’s like saying some employees got bonuses but those that didn’t are upset so let’s just get rid of bonuses 

Some people getting some money is better than no one getting anything 

Name me one disgruntled caster who left fc because they didn’t get a $5 reward

Idea for next iteration of caster rewards 💭 

Set a weekly target for overall protocol usage/engagement, like X total root casts, or Y casts with Z level of engagement, or N total weekly active users…

$0 payout unless the goal is hit 

Each week the goal is hit, rewards go out, something like $100 to top 500 casters

Target can increase over time 

> shared goal that benefits the protocol, aligns and motivates people 
> more meaningful reward
> easier to game (people will cast more, but that’s good?)

i think it’s positive for people and makes them feel special, really enjoy seeing when a random niche person gets it

i don’t fully like this analogy because im not their employee and shouldn’t have to fall in line to grow in the community. obvsly my actions have consequences and this is a small consequence that doesn’t much matter
