Durov said that the IP addresses and phone numbers of those who violate Telegram's rules can now be turned over to the appropriate authorities in response to reasonable legal requests. “We have updated our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to ensure compliance worldwide,” he clarified, adding that the measure was taken to “deter criminals from abusing Telegram's search engine.”
