The speed of human thought is only 10 bits per second - that's 5 million times slower than the speed of regular Wi-Fi Although the senses transmit about 1 billion bits of data to the brain every second, it selects and processes only 10 bits, ignoring the rest, according to research by scientists. This shows how selective the brain is: it focuses only on what is most important for decision-making. These findings cast doubt on futuristic plans to create a direct interface between the brain and the computer. Even with such technologies, the speed of data transfer will remain limited by the natural "limit" of the brain.
