IMO it is a mistake to assume that reputation needs to be linked to an identity. I believe that reputation will be earned and sold.

If reputation is tied to an address, the address could be sold off, hence reputation could be traded. An industry of reputation farmers (I'm gonna call it rep farming or repping) would be booming soon.

Yeah that makes sense, but I think that's down to the mechanics. 

It's also important to consider Sybil attacks. One could craft an identity with a targeted reputation and sell it off.

good point. i would argue that the reputation stays associated with the address and hence the address can be interpreted as an identity. not realizing that the sell had taken place is what keeps the trade viable. does that make sense?
