"Fully" managed infrastructure -- there's a distinction I'm trying to nail down between a managed service like RDS/Postgres -- you still have to think about replicas, upgrade windows, monitoring and something with zero-SRE like Lambda/S3 https://i.imgur.com/DF0025f.png

This is good! Imo the key is fully outsourcing ops to the cloud provider. If a product is called serverless, but doesn’t let you do this, then it’s not really serverless. Wrote more about this here: https://blog.agostbiro.net/2020/04/the-serverless-stack/

Nice post -- definitely agree with embracing lock-in once you choose a cloud provider. I'll add the caveat that managed services aren't necessarily bad -- sometimes a little DevOps is better than a local serverless developer experience...
