I think why meta failed the virtual reality world is because, the real reality is hard enough to survive on.

Even if you have a virtual reality that has maxed out on the dopamine levels, you could essentially achieve the same outcome if you put that work in the real world.

You could say VR has a great potential in reshaping how we work but that also means treading on the real-estate territory. As we've witnessed, landlords are against remote work because they want to extract value in their office spaces and that's going to be a tough domain for Meta to compete with VR.
