Good discussion and really worth the listen. One point I think that has been missing from the code and excellence discussion: To me, the truly special gen art is that which CANNOT exist without code. The potential of coded art to inspire and invoke is not just what you feel when you glance at the thumbnail, it's what arises in you as you explore. That may mean exploring outputs, but even more directly it can mean exploring the art piece itself! Eg: https://www.fxhash.xyz/generative/26052 which requires user input

Aka embracing the medium - I feel like this aspect of genart/creative coding was much more prominent in the early HEN days, and fell off quite a bit with the rise of long-form projects, since the focus there is mainly on the individual outputs
