I started doing these 2 years ago inspired by this mug I saw in the gift shop of a japanese garden I was visiting.  I found setting broad intentions were much more effective at changing my behavior than setting specific resolutions or goals.  They became guiding principles for my year.

Curious if the give and take is a choice, motivation, or just a good way to encapsulate an idea more? 
Or, are there things you’d strictly add or take away. No shade, just wondering.
