Question for fc devs: Anytime we want to use any farcaster client that’s not warpcast, we have to sign a transaction to authorize that client to cast on our behalf and/or edit our profile. How come warpcast doesn’t need to ask permission?

It’s not a requirement. It’s just how people have it designed today for practicality / speed of implementation. cc @woj.eth

You gave permission when you signed up for Warpcast. The $5 sign up fee covers: 1) Registering a new FID 2) Paying for storage 3) Adding an “account key” that authorizes Warpcast to post for you 4) Registering your username When you authorize a new client, you are just doing step 3, adding an account key.

warpcast does this for you at the sign up when you create your account through supercast this also happens in the background right now warpcast doesn't even support approving signers from accounts created outside of warpcast, but if it would the UX would be the same but reversed

you can generate a signer at the time of account creation and thats what warpcast does supercast likely doesnt ask for a separate signer action if you create a new account on supercast @woj.eth
