I posted this about a year ago, when some were complaining about faracster's inner circle or "cool kids table". I argued then that Farcaster being an *open protocol with a culture built around developers*, means everyone and anyone can come in and make an impact. I still believe this today, but what do you think?

I 100% agree but also think there's some favoritism from Warpcast. It's been recommending the same 5 people for me to follow for a year. If I haven't followed them by now, maybe it's time to mix things up

I mean, the narrative, right now, is all about crypto. That's poised to change though right? If FC is successful in onboarding more users.

Im pretty new, but when I explain Farcaster I always mention it allows you to connect with people who you wouldnβt normally be able to, in a way unlike x. I believe it is easy to move between outsider & βeliteβ here, to have conversations with anyone. There will always be hierarchies. It feels merit based here

Iβm new, but my impression so far is that this varies based on channel. Most channels and veteran users are wonderful and welcoming to all. There are still some who seem intent on gatekeeping, but theyβre fewer in number. And I think thatβs just normal social clique behavior, and not specific to FC.
