Minor annoyance: warpcast not optimized for low bandwidth, difficult to use on airplane wifi It’s 10000000% better and more performant vs a year ago, and likely not a priority, but wanted to share the feedback. Was hoping to get thru all my DCs on a flight but getting a lot of “no messages, yet” errors 🙏

+100 would love a "low bandwidth mode", I travel a lot and hate blasting through my roaming quota with huge gifs.

That's what I deal with every day. I had a chat with one of the devs who said unfortunately we are not there yet to support poor connections. Hopefully in the future

Yep! I experienced this on a long 9hr and then another 10hr flight and when I saw other apps adjusted more easily I knew it was likely Warpcast itself

☝️☝️☝️ Related: I've stopped using Warpcast when I'm not on wifi because it chews through data and I get a big bill (happened many times). Context: Google Fi, pay $10/GB. Warpcast can easily cost me $10-30 if I open it on the go (e.g. on a walk).

When I was paying by the MB in Japan I noticed how much of a data hog the app is. I seriously reduced my usage while I was there and had a lot of trouble uploading videos. Many many many people pay by the GB or MB outside of the US and many US centric folks forget this. For my the biggest issue wasn’t the cost, I could get a deal on data. It’s that I got capped on the network and literally couldn’t buy any more high speed data. Once I was capped the app was unusable unless I was on WiFi.
