Is it possible $5 reward does more harm than good? 100 people get it every day which means thousands of DAU are not getting it. The 100 people might feel good and maybe it gets them to cast more, but is it at the cost 1000s feeling not good enough and casting less? I don’t know the answer and it’s just an experiment 🤷♀️

As someone who feels like I accidentally fell into this space, and doesn’t speak dev language or crypto /meme language, I’ve gotten the reward twice now and it’s actually really validating - my “social capital” payoff so to speak. But idk what the primary motivator is of the award, if it’s to support those building the space, might be missing the market, but if my presence counts as building the space then it’s probably doing the right thing

It's for people like you who are creating interesting content for the network. They want people to keep choosing to share/create content here. Without interesting content, farcaster dies

Yea. And I recognize that I’m not motivated by money, (and I work in business development - and even in my day job my motivations are more nuanced than commission) others are - but that’s what makes the world turn and it fun and interesting to provide the people what they “want”!

not to be the negative nancy or whatever, but I went and looked at Hannahs account and I am not seeing any casts or replies that would qualify as a top cast... is it not calculated by engagement?
