A woman in tech. So yeah, I’m used to being the only woman on a team, in a room, at the leadership table. 

I do everything I can to empower women. I think tech is an incredible place for us. And I think tech industry is as a whole is better the closer we can get to parity

I’m a mom of 3 kids, ages 12, 15, 17

My interests tend to run broad not deep. Things I love:
 nature and outdoor activities- hiking, skiing, kayaking, running (but I can’t run long distance)   

comedy and to laugh

emerging tech

Meditation, mindfulness 

Dancing

If you’ve been following this thread you’ll see I still haven’t shared thoughts on the goals for the experiment and how I hope we can all work together on it.  Just didn’t get to it yet. 😅 I’ll write more in the coming days- will keep adding to this thread.

So.... what's this channel leads experiment about anyway?

Goal: Increase quality engagement across the protocol
 
Target:  
10x the number of top-level or root casts in each channel
10x the engagement (replies, recasts, and likes)

Yesterday there were 6 new casts in FarcastHER.  By Nov 1 can we get that to 60?

Question: disregarding *how* to get there, what do you think of the goal?  Is it a good one?  

1. Yes! I think it's a great goal that I'm personally motivated to help reach

2. N/A.  It's a good goal for other people who are connected to Farcaster's success, but not relevant for me.

3. No.  (please explain!)

@ted 's cast from a few weeks ago was the catalyst for forming this channel.  I think she struck a nerve that many of us were feeling.  We LOVE it here but all our needs were not being met in a dominantly male coded place. FarcastHER came about because of a need for belonging.

But then @naomiii said something that haunted me.  How do we make sure farcastHER isn't a place far away from the mainstage.  We need to make sure we have a place in the room where it happens (hamilton reference).

That's the needle I hope we can thread.  

A place where we can be ourselves with whatever amount of feminine or masculine energy we want to bring.

A place where womxn reflexively celebrate, promote, amplify, inspire, and befriend other womxn.  

A place where... [please finish this sentence!]

Channel experiment will go through Nov 1. I'll be casting a lot, but that's not necessarily new behavior (sorry, not sorry) 🤣

Got a degree in environmental engineering but spent my career in software- mostly b2b enterprise saas. Held several leadership roles including VP of a 100 pp dept. Now I run a consulting company helping orgs optimize their tech.

isn't it funny that we can get to know people *so* well just by their PFPs and their casts, without actually knowing any of the typical small talk things we say when we introduce ourselves - where you are from, what do you do?
