I love how Elon approached building Optimus from first principles, with humans as a model. He wanted it to be like the average human bc it would be working in a world designed for humans. If it’s in your kitchen cooking meals, it makes sense to be of average human height so it can use counters and what not. (1/2)

But thought experiment: would he feel differently if he weren’t 6 feet tall? I’m only 5’3”, a 5’8” robot isn’t entirely unthreatening to me, with or without an elfish look.

it might be the leverage physics, there's an interview out there with the FIgureAI team going through the same problem space. (The taller it is, with a longer arm, the greater the torque needed)
