Correct. Apple is not in the position to care about your privacy or security as a public company.

This is why it's great users now have more options than ever before to incrementally improve their security, privacy, and ownership of digital accounts, data, and money.

I don’t disagree about the closed source point, but what would you have expected Apple to do in this case? simply refuse? how would that go?
