The Cyanometer: A Tool to Measure the Sky鈥檚 Blueness Invented by Swiss scientist Horace-B茅n茅dict de Saussure in the 18th century, the circular chart contains 52 shades of blue. Inspired by his love for the Alps, especially Mont Blanc, Saussure climbed to great heights to study the deeper blue skies at higher altitudes.
