I love that dialects of different languages are untranslatable unless you learn the language I love this fact almost unreasonably

It’s almost like the culture, the times, the history carved its mark on the language so much so that it made it exactly the way it is. In many ways, the only way to translate it is to live the culture and the history, explanation alone does not fully suffice

Years ago, I ambitiously started to research a film project that would incorporate this theme, where multiple characters speaking different languages, each struggling to talk to others about things that can never truly be translated. I still think about it from time to time.
