When you have the opportunity to give out an incentive, you should really use it to try to build something sustainable with that incentive and think hard about the edge cases where it doesn't become sustainable or sticky for users Otherwise, you're just giving out incentives for nothing but a quick hype cycle bc people follow incentives unless there's a product that serves a need or desire

In this space that incentive usually presents itself as an airdrop, and that need/ desire is free money. Not saying its the best way to build something sustainable, but I've yet to see another playbook usurp it in this ecosystem.

yes exactly. the various incentive designs around airdrop mechanics is a big part of what makes crypto so interesting
