The biggest competitor isn't any of those but rather "ourselves". Specifically, our ability to create a compelling product offering that's truly differentiated. e.g., The only reason my mom signed up for Helium Mobile is because I took her phone and did it for her.

Community Weaker: Discord is a painful way to be introduced to Helium. There just isn't a great way to keep up. It was awesome when it was < 1000 people. We need to elevate our education and communication game as a network.

Community Stronger: The breadth of people who care about Helium, Helium IOT, Helium MOBILE and the products built on top of these networks have definitely increased. And I think we've inspired several founders and teams to build new DePINs.

For Helium, we're still very much in the building phase, especially in the subnetworks. We took a very opinionated stance in pushing governance as far out to the community as possible and we also pushed most protocol development to the Foundation. I think this necessitates a technical leader but I'm biased.

It really depends on what the goals are of the foundation and the stage of the network. Do you want your foundation to be purely an education and advocacy organization, is it a token treasury / security council, or is it one of many development teams.
