Talked w/ someone who asserted that they'd experienced ego death caused by having to re-do significant amounts of PhD work due to faculty churn. I was aware of the concept, but hadn't ever heard someone claim it beyond some drug stories. Have you experienced what you think of as (non-drug) ego death?
