This is something Bruce Gilden said to me in a Twitter space a couple of years ago and it's been a permanent fixture on the wall of my studio workspace ever since.

Yeah, that was a really cool moment. And I think this comment of his really makes sense in a lot of ways...you can end up really off-course if you spend your time doing what other people say you should be doing. Trusting my own instincts and inner critic usually gets me where I want to end up.
