4 years ago what was intended to be a 15 minute nap ended up becoming a 6 hour flirtation with a diabetic coma, blood glucose of 41 mmol/L, followed by 5 days hospitalized in the middle of the 2nd wave of the covid pandemic followed by three months of blindness, weekly battles to remain on short term disability leave, months fighting severe depression while navigating a decrepit healthcare system and inhumane health insurance policies all while living alone. The old me is long gone and dead, but I’m starting to like the new version a lot more lately (finally). One day at a time.

Oh yeah, lots of signs. But I was insanely overworked and stressed about the pandemic so wrongly assumed I was worn down and ill due to that. Plus no family history so it was quite unexpected.
