The Mariana Trench, located in the western Pacific Ocean, is the deepest part of the Earth's oceans. Its lowest point, known as the Challenger Deep, reaches about 36,000 feet (11,000 meters) below sea level. This vast and remote abyss is so deep that if Mount Everest were placed at the bottom, its peak would still be over a mile underwater. Despite the extreme pressure and darkness, life thrives in the trench, with unique species such as the snailfish and giant amoebas. Due to its isolation, the trench remains one of the most mysterious and least explored areas of our planet, with new discoveries still being made about the organisms that inhabit its depths.
