I just got off a call with a top 5 band artist manager. Manager says: - “I’m so excited about the tech, but getting the band interested in crypto is like dragging a horse to water. How do I approach explaining it to them?” - What would you say?

Tell em it’s not about the tech It’s about getting them as close as possible to their fans again In the early days, the band worked the merch stand and met every single fan buying stuff Then they got big and people handled all that The new band tech stack lets them recreate that magic except at stadium scale

“Have fun staying poor” 🤪 But in all seriousness, if the band isn’t into it they’ll likely bounce after the first experiment. Seems better to focus on people who are ready to go down the rabbit hole or already have.

My next step is to try learning more about why they are not interested in crypto. Some aren’t up for putting in the effort to understand it. I tend to steer clear of trying to convince those who aren’t even curious on their own.

By working with [Royal] you get to look cool for being early to crypto without having to know anything about it. [Royal] takes care of the heavy lifting and you earn more money without having to give away your masters or publishing.

Hey @3lau , let’s demystify crypto for them together! 🌟 I suggest we start with setting them up with a @coinbasewallet then I’ll send over some ETH and an NFT. It’s hands-on experience that really turns the tide. It’s worked wonders for me in the past – seeing is believing!

its media without intermediaries imagine the levels of engagement and meaning you can embed with your audience if you actually owned these relationships outside any platform the audience joins the network by simply consuming the media don't even mention 'Crypto' and 'NFTs': - NFT = (onchain) media - Crypto = network

When it comes to bands all you have to say are two magical words 'DIGITAL MEMBERSHIPS' ..... everyone can understand what that means, they dont really need to understand the blockchain technology behind it, just that they can offer things like token gated experiences & rewards to holders. Done Deal 😎 🎤 🎶

web3 is just another vertical to release music. it’s a way to offer fans provable ownership of their favorite songs, and people will pay a premium just for that sense of ownership.

Use the ticketing angle! Artists usually dislike unfair ticketing practices. Onchain ticketing can come with transparency, monetizing the secondary market (but still fair), and owning your fanbase without any intermediaries, long after an event. The concept of a ticket changes onchain.

onchain is best explained when u do a walk thru interactively. so either a live demo or a loom.

Many approaches could be taken. Many would probably fail. Without knowing the people, it’s hard to say. That said, I would choose something fun for them to experience firsthand. Maybe /basepaint (or something like that that would resonate). Lead the horse to water so to speak
