still think the endgame for crypto is in governance. right now it doesn’t really make sense because the industry needs to stretch its wings and fly, but eventually the way we want to organize the landscape will be useful and it’s not something that’s inherently evil.

in fact, starting from that principle begets a lot of the problems that governance typically leads to. we have new social technologies, let’s attempt to use them.

slightly apropos of farcaster’s current fight against spam/engagement farming? many users speaking out about “rules” that certainly aren’t rules enforced at a protocol level. at the channel level it’s different for sure, but farcaster as a whole

This is a pretty interesting take I hadn't really considered. Maybe it never clicked for me because most governance tokens go asymptotically to zero, but that is mostly because the major use case for now is speculation.
