Your Farcaster Casts are your CV (a 🧵)

When I get a notification that someone commented on my post and I don’t recognize the name/pfp, the first thing I do is scroll their profile. 

I make a judgement in about 15 seconds and try to determine if I think you are an authentic account or a spammer/scammer/farmer. 

Here are the things I look for:

1. Are you posting original content?
2. Is your profile mostly recasts and frames?
3. If you are casting to big channels (cough /itookaphoto /nature) do the photos look like you took them or are they stolen from Pinterest?
4. Are you casting to channels that generate a lot of spam? (I’m not going to throw shade at the channels in public)

I left Reddit when ChatGPT spit out my own skincare advice to me. Verbatim.

I think we can’t stop them at this point. If it exists on the internet it’s going to get ingested as training data.

The internet was scraped to create all of these AIs. 

Farcaster might be a bit more transparent. Opt in to train, tbd which models will come of it

I was shocked. It was pretty new when it happened. I stopped posting that day. Then the 3rd party API debacle happened and now I’m here. Training more LLMs I’m sure ;)
