Non-fungible tokens should purposefully utilize their non-fungibility or else they should just be fungible. I think the big swing towards fungible tokens / memecoins is partly attributable to their relative novelty but partly to the fact that most NFTs stopped being meaningfully non-fungible. And of those that remained most were not doing anything fundamentally interesting or materially original. Just another animal pfp collection basically. This is not to bash the relative few who are doing interesting and original things, including some interesting new takes on animal pfp collections even. My point is that non-fungible collections should lean in on non-fungibility or else just be fungible. Default fungible, or be non-fungible for a reason. That’s my view.

At this point, any NFT collection that doesn't add utility to the non-fungible property is just a
