can anyone explain what this means? what does "transfering your current profile to the new resolver" and "updating your resolver" mean?

Hey @grin The resolver is a contract that helps resolve your ENS name into usable records (addresses, avatar, socials, etc). There's ENS public resolver contracts, however you could also write your own custom one and do interesting things with it. In this case the resolver upgraded for the namewrapper contract + more.

Transferring your profile would be to carry across any records you already have set on one resolver, to the new one.
