Contrary to the vision, Web2 brought forward corporations which are bigger and hold more power than many governments. Although some of them started out with the right motto; "Don't be evil" (Google), they are centralized entities, which are a single point of failure.

If we rely solely on these centralized oversized corporations, we run the danger of ending up somewhere we don't want to end up.

Google quietly removed their motto in 2018.

It was replaced with "do the right thing" at Alphabet. The original motto was more concrete.

Protocols like FC are on the forefront of thinking differently. (Thank you for that!)

Web3 / crypto is a rare second chance to build a truly open internet. It is one of the most important things in the world, and the window to act is closing by the day. Soon, it will be too late.

Most don't realize this danger.

It sounds dramatic, because it is.
We must *try* to reclaim and secure our freedom.
