i can’t stop thinking about the design space for onramping. why do we collectively accept using wallets like scattered debit cards? there needs to be a way to have all stores of value in one place that can be spent from any wallet on any app.

I like that you are thinking about this. It’s gonna take a designer/team who is not tied to one chain and uses and understands the nuances of different chains to find a way to abstract that for the everyday user and deliver a clean easy UX. You got my wheels spinning now too.

This complements more web2-centric login/onboarding schemes, where we basically abstract away any knowledge of wallets in favor of credentials. privy and web3auth do login, but don't allow for automatic use of balances across generated wallets. that would be very cool (but also an attack vector).

I've been dreaming of that day for what feels like a lifetime. I collect on random chains. I shouldn't ever need to know which seed, wallet, or chain I'm interacting with. The fact that blockchain is involved at all shouldn't cross my mind. A consumer doesn't care what language an app is in.

Having multiple wallets right now is more for protection against being scammed or potential exploits. Nothing is stopping us from loading all wallets in metamask I guess, or sync via icloud, etc. It becomes very dangerous when only one device can do any transaction.
