On iOS, passkeys are indeed stored in the Enclave but they can also be sync between devices with the iCloud Keychain. (for the good and the bad) A detailed blog about this can be found here: https://www.slashid.dev/blog/passkeys-deepdive/

The passkey is the private key. So it it never exposed to the smart wallet app.

The passkey flow is used to sign a random message that is verified onchain by the abstracted account. No EOA layer ☺️
